The NSW Institute of Sport [NSWIS] is a high performance sporting organisation that supports Australian athletes to become world’s best. We reach all regions of NSW with an Olympic and Paralympic training facility based at Sydney Olympic Park and high performance hubs across NSW that provide world class daily training environments for our athletes and coaches. Our experts work in collaboration with partners within the national sporting system to create and deliver high performance support services and environments to prepare athletes and coaches for international competition.

 

About the role

The Coordinator, Digital and Design will drive NSWIS’s awareness strategy by developing and coordinating digital media and communication initiatives. This role will take the lead in developing and delivering engaging content across internal and external platforms, with a strong focus on visual storytelling. It will drive audience growth and boost engagement through innovative content creation.

This full-time position commences on 1 January 2025 attracting a salary of $99,745 plus superannuation.  The contract period for this role is up to 31 December 2028 in line with the Olympic cycle. 

This is an identified position requiring a Working with Children Check.

About you

You will have:

  • 4 + years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Advanced visual, design and creative skills across all media and communications platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in driving digital media to amplify awareness messages, drive growth and engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in a written and visual format
  • Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Australian high performance sport environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practice digital and social media processes and communications strategy principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content management systems (WordPress), search engine optimisation and web publishing

 

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Media and Communications (Arts, Business, or Sciences undergraduate degree) or similar
  • Proven experience in successfully developing and executing media and communications strategies
  • Proven ability to work independently, diagnose problems and implement effective solutions
  • Awareness of contemporary issues relating to athletes in high performance sport (mental health, wellbeing, social issues)
  • Current driver’s license
  • Working with Children WWCC
  • Sport Integrity Australia - Anti-Doping Fundamentals and Annual Update
